Owners of this 1950's home in Kettle River, MN started to notice some cracking and leaking in the north wall of their basement. In hopes of a permanent solution, they reached out to us after visiting the DBS booth at the Duluth Home Show.
DBS Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo visited the home for a free, no-obligation estimate for the foundation issues. It was determined that three PowerBrace™ I-beams would be installed to support the north wall of the basement. These PowerBrace™ beams are anchored to the floor and rim joists and can be tightened over time to restore the wall to its original position. DBS Foreman Antonio O'Neil and his crew performed the foundation support work.
The homeowner was happy with the work done and can now enjoy a supported basement.
DBS received a call looking to upgrade the crawl space in their home to properly drain, insulate, and fix the overall environment of the home, as a poorly insulated or wet crawl space can create a long list of problems in other rooms. DBS worked with the clients to set up a proposal for their crawl space repair that met their needs.
We suggested our spray foam insulation to give the crawl space protection from drafts and cracks letting the air out. We also proposed installation of our CleanSpace® drainage matting and a SmartDrain to make sure that any water coming into the crawl space would be directed out, so our homeowners can maintain a dry crawl space and an overall happy home.
