Our crew set out with a goal to make this property suitable for all seasons for the new owners with foundation stabilization and crawlspace encapsulation. The customers wanted a permanent solution. There were some tough issues to tackle: joists needing attention and areas with mold that needed spraying.
The crew cleared away all debris and created access to a small crawl space without an entrance was necessary. The main part of the job was encapsulating the crawl space with SmartJacks. Everything went smoothly, and the customer was delighted with the result. The customer shared that Jordan, the foreman, was always punctual and polite. He replied promptly to the customer's messages and made sure everything went smoothly from start to finish.
Our crew took on a waterproofing project at a daycare center in Grand Rapids, MN, where they were applying for a grant. The main concern was to address water issues to keep the place dry, which was important for the kids' health. Additionally, they wanted to make the space more usable. The center had a lot of square footage and an open basement with a small storage room, which meant only one interior wall needed work.
Overall, the job went smoothly. The primary water problem stemmed from rotting window frames, so they were also sprayfoamed and taped to prevent further water damage. The daycare center will add new windows for a more permanent solution.
This homeowner reached out to DBS after experiencing water issues while finishing their basement. They wanted to ensure that their basement was going to be completely dry once their finishing project was complete. Once our Foreman Lee Krouse and Co-Foreman Chris Tureson arrived at the property, they went ahead and installed the WaterGuard® system and DoubleSafe™ Sump pump to ensure there was no more water leaking into the basement and the homeowners could go back to finishing up their basement with comfort. Design Specialist Rich Johnsen assisted the owner with a free, no-obligation. After inspecting the home and the issues, Rich recommended our WaterGuard® Drain System and provided the owner with a quote.
This French drain system is installed in the trenches around the perimeter of the basement. These drains collect the water and transport it to the sump pump where it is removed from the home. New concrete is then installed on top that creates a flush finish once dry.

The owner of this home in Grand Rapids, MN reached out to DBS about improving their energy efficiency. They knew that their attic was in need of new insulation and they reached out to DBS for more information.
Our Design Specialist visited the home to provide a free, no-obligation estimate for the insultation job. We recommended a combination of closed-cell spray foam and our Dr. Energy Saver® SilverGlo™ rigid foam insulation.
Our DBS production crew first completely removed the existing insualtion. They then air sealed the space using ZypFoam, paying particular attention to sealing all visible cracks in between the building material. This will assist in holding in heated air, and prevent ice dam build-up. Once that was complete, they installed SilverGlo™ insulation, thoughly lining the attic space. This was followed by spray foam to completely seal the space from floor to ceiling.
