A great day to pick up trash!
DBS employees took part in their bi-annual Adopt-A-Highway cleanup today after our company meeting. We piled into a couple of cars and took the short trip to our section of road we adopted. We were prepared with bright, reflective vests, rubber gloves, and heavy-duty garbage bags. We split into two teams and covered our two-mile stretch of highway in under two hours. It’s safe to say we weren’t prepared for the warm weather today! We had unseasonably warm temperatures and a bright shining sun that left some of us with a burn! But, it was a great day to be outside and participate in some team bonding. One of the more unique items found was an animal skull. This skull was discovered by Design Specialist, Torrey Swenson. We think it may have been a raccoon, but not certain! Receptionist, Kristin Kramer even made it out while seven months pregnant! She was a trooper and even recovered from a few ticks crawling on her!
DBS enjoys helping make our community a cleaner, safer place to live it. Picking up trash along our highway twice a year is one way we like to give back to the community.
